ALMA (soul) "All for the Love of Music & Art" is a Brazilian collective that fuses live instrumentation with Brazilian grooves. DJ True and Miller Cruz marry the traditional sounds of samba, pagode, bossa nova to house, drum n’ bass, Latin & Afro beats – what a beautiful union. The combination has produced quite a serious monthly party introducing the world to their own unique style they themselves call “Neo-Brasilian Fusion”. They share the heart and intense party nature of Brazilians with their patrons by bringing back memories of old NYC, where the party spirit was once similar to that of Brazil in many ways.
Expect music lovers of all ethnicities and ages working up a sweat to the heavily percussive grooves.

Jorge Amorim (Tribo Raw)
Neil Ochoa (Si Se)

Jorge Amorim leads TRIBO in NYC, Paris and Rio de Janeiro. He grew up as a percussionist, became a drummer and one of Rio's greatest exports as a composer. Jorge's musical passion is ruled by his African ancestry. He adds his percussion section to ALMA NYC this July 21st, bringing you the Afro-Contemporary dance experience of the summer. Neil Ochoa (SI SE) will duel on the congas with Jorginho while Erminia Apolinario, the Bahiana from Ilha Vitoria chants and celebrates a full load of Orixa traditionals to the rhythm of TRIBO urban concoctions.
