Many have eagerly waited this day. Whether you heard about it, were one of the many that couldn’t get in or you were actually one of the lucky guests to witness ALMA’s 1st Anniversary, Louie is definitely a DJ influenced by his surroundings. As guests crammed every corner of The Sullivan Room to try and get their groove on to DJ True’s and Miller Cruz’s new Brazilian vibe, Mr. Vega, surrounded by 10+ drummers, elevated the crowd to a new climatic height.
His work is the cornerstone of dance music, as the entire world knows it today. This 2006 Grammy Award winning DJ always sends the ALMA audience into a complete frenzy with his masterful productions and remixes and is the pioneer of many of the elements that make up the “Neo-Brasilian Fusion” sound ALMA has coined.
A real living legend and native New Yorker, Mr. Louie Vega will be playing an exclusive Brazilian set to celebrate the birthdays of party producer Joann Jimenez and resident DJ Miller Cruz. Members of Louie’s all-star Elements Of Life band will be on hand, just as last time, with a special presentation in honor of Chango; Orisha of fire and music. Their lovely host, Manchildblack, will have plenty of cake duty, so make sure you’re around to blow some of those candles out before this party truly catches fire.
