It’s Thanksgiving celebration all week for Canadians and everyone can join in – as musicians Allison Crowe and Billie Woods visit the SHAPE Club for an intimate and exciting dinner concert.

This year, internationally-acclaimed musician Allison Crowe, the Nanaimo, BC-born resident of Atlantic Canada has served as Music Director of Theatre Newfoundland and Labrador’s “Newfoundland Vinyl,” a rollicking hit at this Summer’s Gros Morne Theatre Festival. As well, she’s super-busy off-stage with film and documentary projects, and on-stage with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

In May 2012 Crowe performed “Hallelujah” for the World Premiere run of “The Doorway: Scenes from Leonard Cohen” – the RWB’s thrilling, new, Cohen-inspired ballet. This November, she rejoins the RWB as the dance, choreographed by Jorden Morris (“Moulin Rouge”), delights audiences in Canada’s Maritime provinces.

In concert, Allison Crowe mixes voice, piano, and guitar – and genres from rock to folk, jazz, pop and soul – to feature original music along with select covers, including her much-loved interpretations of Cohen and such artists as The Beatles, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Patty Griffin and Aretha Franklin.

Hailing from Salt Spring Island, BC - Billie Woods opens the show with songs inspired by life in Canada's Pacific northwestern coastal forest, and infused with the warmth and vitality of the sambas, bossa novas and other cultural rhythms of Brazil. Woods will showcase tracks off her album/CD, "Only So Far", along with her latest originals and covers.

Billie Woods’ influences include classical guitarist Jose Gonzales and indie duo from Mexico Rodrigo y Gabriella. Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Woods’ family moved to beautiful Salt Spring Island, BC when she was five. There she has created an amazing life of music and photography. She first started playing guitar when she was 12 and has tudied music in Canada, Prague and Brazil. She began touring with Allison Crowe in 2005 as her opening act and also has her photographer. Billie Woods is just about to record a new four-song EP.
