"Narikurava" (In Tamil ' Fox hunters ') are well known gypsies in Tamilnadu they also called as "kuruvikarar"(sparrow hunters). There are about 364 indigenous communities are identified in Tamil nadu by the Anthropological survey of India. Tamil is a mother tongue for almost 209 ethnic groups, rest of them are migrated from Northern states of India such as Aravalli hill ranges, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Mewar etc. “Here they are identified as sparrow hunters, beads sellers by their profession for the long period of time. But now there are significant changes happening in the lives of “ Narikuravas” in terms of education and the standard of living.
