On Saturday, January 30, 2010, the ACMS Foundation will host “Pittsburgh Proud”—its annual community awards and fundraising gala. Taking place at Heinz Field, East Club Lounge from 6:30 – 11:00 p.m., Pittsburgh Proud will be an evening that celebrates many reasons to be proud of the Pittsburgh region – including this year’s ACMS award winners.
The gala promises to be a wonderful affair, providing the perfect opportunity and setting to socialize with friends and colleagues. At a special VIP reception, the medical society will introduce and honor John Delaney Jr., MD, incoming ACMS president, along with other newly installed officers. An open reception will follow featuring lively entertainment provided by Gypsy Strings, caricatures provided by Sam Thong, delicious food and an awards ceremony celebrating 2009 ACMS award winners who make us “Pittsburgh Proud.” Fabulous items such as luxury vacations, fine jewelry, designer handbags, sports memorabilia and more will be available to the highest bidder at a silent auction. Other fun surprises will add to the festive atmosphere.
Tickets to attend the gala are $145 per person. Gala sponsorships are also available. For more information regarding sponsoring the event log on to www.acmsgala.com.
All of the proceeds will directly benefit the ACMS Foundation Medical Student and Community College of Allegheny County Health Care Scholarship funds. Over the years the ACMS Foundation has provided over $2 million to these and other worthwhile causes.
For more information about the gala or to make a reservation, call the medical society office at (412) 321-5030.
