Arusha is proud to host not one but five of Alberta's highest profile
environmental organizations at our Happy Hour. Hear a concise
overview of Alberta's environmental campaigns from the groups
that are making it happen. Enjoy snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Jeh Custer, Sierra Club
Sierra Club Canada is a member-based organization that empowers
people to protect, restore, and enjoy a healthy and safe planet. Sierra
Club Canada has several major national campaigns with four
program areas: Health and Environment, Protecting Biodiversity,
Atmosphere and Energy, and Transition to a Sustainable Economy.
Sheila Muxlow, Council of Canadians
Founded in 1985, the Council of Canadians is Canada’s largest
citizens’ organization, with members and chapters across the country
and campaigns on water privatization, democracy and trade issues.
Mike Hudema, Greenpeace
Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organization that
acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the
environment and to promote peace.
Clayton Thomas-Muller, Indigenous Environmental Network
Clayton Thomas-Muller, of the Mathais Colomb Cree Nation also
known as Pukatawagan in Northern Manitoba, Canada, is an activist
for Indigenous rights and environmental justice.
Eriel Tchekwie Deranger, Rainforest Action Network
Eriel Tchekwie Deranger is a Dene woman belonging to the
Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation of Northern Alberta. Eriel is
currently employed with the Rainforest Action Network as the
Freedom From Oil Campaigner in Edmonton, Alberta targeting
Tar Sands development and the banks that fund it.
