Algonquin Round Table Walking Tour & Book Launch August 22, 2009

Today is Dorothy Parker's birthday, and the Dorothy Parker Society is celebrating with two events. At Noon at the Algonquin Hotel, home of the Vicious Circle, will be the Algonquin Round Table Walking Tour. This two-hour walk will trace the steps of the legendary 1920s literary stars such as Parker, Robert Benchley, Edna Ferber, George S. Kaufman and Harpo Marx. We will see the speakeasies, haunts and hangouts from the Roaring Twenties. The walk is led by author Kevin C. Fitzpatrick. Immediately following the walk, at 2:30 pm, will be a book signing. Fitzpatrick is the co-editor of "The Lost Algonquin Round Table" and he will be signing copies of the book in the lobby of the hotel at 2:30.
