SSCC Theatre is pleased to announce the upcoming summer production, “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.” This comical musical, based on the best-selling book, is great for the entire family and includes book and lyrics by the original author, Judith Viorst, with music provided by Shelly Markham.
“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” will play in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium at the Central Campus of Southern State Community College in Hillsboro, on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday, Aug. 23 at 3:30 p.m.
Alexander (played by Meredith Shea) is having a bad day. A terrible day. A horrible day. To be quite honest, it's a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. But then, everybody has bad days, sometimes. Not only does Alexander wake up with gum in his hair, but his mother forgets to pack him dessert, and his best friend decides he's not his best friend anymore. And if that's not bad enough, Alexander's brothers don't have any cavities but—he does. And just when it can't get any worse, there are lima beans for supper and —yuck!—kissing on TV. It is enough to make anyone want to go to Australia.
The cast of “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” includes the talents of Kyle Baker, Julianne Cartaino, Carrie Chalker, Josh Keidel, Roodie Eichmann, Joey Haas and Jamie McCoy. The musical is directed by Rainee Angles and stage managed by Sarah Williams, with music direction by David White. Fulfilling crew positions are: Brent Angles, Evan Barrett, Lance Disher, Donald Gehres, D.J. Griffith, Sara O’Brien and A.J. Yourkvitch.
Tickets for “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” are on sale now and can be pre-ordered by calling 937-393-3431, ext. 2794.
