National Bank, in partnership with Tennis Canada, is proud to announce that it has extended its On the Ball program to include both Ontario and Quebec schools. With professional tennis player Aleksandra Wozniak, ranked 56th in the world, as the program’s spokesperson, the Montreal-born athlete will officially launch On the Ball at a press conference in Toronto on July 6, 2012, before heading to the Olympics to represent Canada on the courts.
For its sixth consecutive year, National Bank is continuing its used tennis ball recovery program that facilitates noise-free learning environments in classrooms. With more than 500,000 used tennis balls already distributed to schools across Quebec, National Bank has partnered with tennis clubs to participate in the program and host On the Ball donation bins.
On the Ball re-purposes the simple tennis ball as a tool to help make a learning environment more conducive to concentration, where tennis balls are placed on the legs of grade school students’ chairs to eliminate screeching seats.
All clients and community members alike are urged to stop by the participating clubs to donate their used balls. Not only do donations go to a great cause, participants can enter to win one of the following:
• An activity-filled day with On the Ball spokesperson and Canadian Tennis Champion, Aleksandra Wozniak, including a shopping trip, lunch, and tennis game (valued at $1,000)
• Tickets to the 2013 Rogers Cup Finals in Toronto (valued at $250)
• A tennis essentials kit (valued at $200)
Participating tennis clubs in Ontario include North York Tennis Association Winter Tennis Club, Ontario Racquet Club and Whiteoaks Park Tennis Club.
