Alejandro Escovedo is a straight-ahead, country-tinged roots rocker, having served time in such bands as The Nuns and Rank and File and The True Believers. Since emerging on his own in the early 1990s, he has released nine albums marked by a stunning variety of music and eloquent lyrical expression, all of them praised by critics for their power, beauty and sophistication.
