Montreal-based photo and video artist Alana Riley creates large-format, high-intensity portraits of staged moments. In the Support System series, Riley documents herself with individual men and women in positions of “closeness,” exploring the problem of intimacy in a postmodern society. Support System is featured in the show Watch Me! at 511 Gallery, along with work by London photographer Lucy Levene. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, September 10th from 6 to 8 pm.
