Alain Bonder: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (Temporary) March 30, 2011

Canadian painter Alain Bonder is returning to New York’s 511 Gallery for his second US show with a powerful new series of mostly monochromatic odes to cinematic history. While his process continues to employ a signature technique of delicately marrying drawing and painting on a minimalist canvas, the simplicity of his newest paintings is more pronounced than it has been in the past. His newer work, which takes a less abstract approach, speaks with a directness that is universal.
