"Al Gore Memorial High School" August 17, 2007

This summer, theatrical comedy veteran Aaron Ross, of Portland, OR, is touring his one-man show: “Al Gore Memorial High School,” across the United States for 6 weeks, and will be performing in NYC at the PIT (154 W. 29th Street), Friday, August 17, 11:00PM. (ALL AGES)

“The audience is an active part of Al Gore Memorial High School,” explained Ross of his hysterical one-man show that mixes sketch & improv comedy together. “I will invade the audience and play off them; bringing some on stage with me, making each night’s experience unique for all involved, including myself.”

As founder and producer of the improv troupe Kick the Squirrel, sketch comedy troupe Renob Control, and the teenage sketch comedy troupe A+ Failing, Ross has performed and directed over 180 comedy shows over the past 4 years, including performances at the Austin Out of Bounds Improv & Sketch Fest ('05, '06, '07), Milwaukee Sketch & Improv Fest ('07), D.C. Comedy Fest ('06), Out of Bounds West in L.A. ('07), and The Miami Improv Festival ('07).

The “high school experience” we’ve all had is reflected in the characters Ross authored with his own unique, absurd, and hilarious twist. Each character will directly interact with audience members as a teacher, student, or parent: creating a unique and risky theater experience that showcases the high-wire improvisational act that Ross has become known for.

Come and laugh together with your “peers” at the awkwardness of first love, the absurd assemblies, quirky instructors, parent-teacher conferences, lessons of Sex-Ed, that crusty old janitor, or the glory of graduation. Make sure you’re not tardy and in attendance when your name is called!
