As death from AIDS is less common and management of HIV infection is more prevalent, AIDS service organizations are transforming services and prevention programs. Yet despite their efforts, statistics on HIV transmission show that this disease still continues to spread. Can we stop AIDS without addressing the social injustices that drive it: racism, sexism, homophobia, violence, substance abuse, and poverty?
