Science, religion, logic and faith collide head-on in this play by John Pielmeier which tells the story of a novice nun barely out of her teens who has given birth in a convent to a child she is now accused of murdering. Insisting that the dead child was the result of a virgin birth, a psychiatrist and the mother superior of the convent clash during the resulting investigation. As the psychiatrist becomes more in touch with herself and her view of the world while she is analyzing Agnes, Agnes claims no memory or knowledge of the event. Can the truth be uncovered?
