This new display of the museum's distinguished collection of Coptic Egyptian art emphasizes the mix of cultures and religions in Egypt under Roman, Byzantine and Islamic rule. Some of the works exhibited are on loan from the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and were made possible with a grant from the Museum Loan Network. Other works were lent by the Kelsey Museum, University of Michigan, through the Museum Loan Network, come from Michigan's 1930's excavations of the ancient country town of Karanis.
