$15 - 6pm
Afro-Cuban Folkloric music and dance performances. A community celebration to benefit the Diaz Dance Foundation established in honor of Joann ?Juana? Diaz. Afro-Cuban folkloric performances will be followed by a night of dancing with Rumbaché (formerly Quimbombó). Other artists include Jose Francisco Barroso, Michael Spiro, Sandy Perez, Fito Reinoso, Jose Luis Gomez and the Arenas Dance Co. dir. by Susana Arenas. The Diaz Dance Foundation provides opportunities for young people to discover the joy and passion of dance. Joann?s open heart, radiant smile and luminous spirit made her an inspiration to all who knew her whether as a dancer extraordinaire, a devoted high-school counselor, or a beloved friend who taught us all so much through her courageous battle with breast cancer.
