Afrikaans is a West Germanic language decended from Dutch, mainly spoken in South Africa and Namibia. With about 6 million native speakers in South Africa, or 13.3 percent of the population, it is the third most spoken mother tongue in the country. The program offered here is well suited to both business and leisure travellers in addition to those who simply want to learn more about the culture, or perhaps explore their own heritage. Afrikaans 101 is the beginners course and no prior knowledge of the language is required. Details of this event may be subject to change.
