Joe Sealy has enjoyed a highly successful career as a musician, composer, recording artist and radio broadcaster. His 1997 Juno-Award winning Africville Suite “may be the most important jazz album released in Canada this year.” – The Halifax Daily News.
He has presented the Africville Suite in concert venues and at music festivals across Canada, Denmark, Norway and the USA. In 2009, Sealy was appointed to the Order of Canada for his outstanding contributions to the arts and specifically for Africville Suite, which was dedicated to Canada's oldest urban Black community.
