African Savanna Exhibit March 29, 2011

The vast grasslands of East Africa support huge varieties of animals, from predators such as lions and wild dogs, to large herbivores including giraffe, hippos, Grant's gazelles, fringe-eared oryx, ostriches, zebras and patas monkeys. Our African Savanna exhibit showcases these remarkable species that exist on these shrinking wild grasslands. Included is the unique opportunity to feed giraffes on a platform on the north edge of the exhibit.
