AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE Presents:
AFRICAN AMERICAN SHORT Film Celebration
This shorts program celebrates the voices that define a new generation of Black Cinema and showcases narrative, animated and documentary films that expand characters and themes of the African American experience.
This 70-minute program will include these standout shorts and more:
Roberta Marie Munroe's "Happy Birthday" (USA, 2008, 14 min). Julie Goldman and Yolonda Ross star in this comedy by former Sundance Shorts programmer and one of POWER UP's Top Amazing Gay Women in Hollywood.
Rashaad Ernesto Green's award-winning "Premature" (USA, 2008, 15 min). A sensitive performance by Zora Howard as Tisha, a streetwise teenager faced with an unwanted pregnancy.
Filmmaker-actress-editor and studio animation voiceover pro Kamali Minter's "Love Conquers Al" (USA, 2008, 15 min). This festival favorite features an outstanding comedy performance by Malcolm Barrett.
