Affairs of the Heart - Women & Heart Disease
The fact is one in four women in the United States dies of heart disease, while one in 30 dies of breast cancer according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute. And, research shows women can lower their heart disease risk enormously - by as much as a whopping 82 percent - simply by leading a healthy lifestyle.
Pure and simple; that's the basis for a women's event planned for Monday, February 23 in First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
Henry County Hospital and Henry County Cardiology are leading the event, but not without a team of enthusiastic women dedicated to bringing this important health message to all women in Henry County.
Vendors Needed
Committee members currently are seeking vendors of interest to women in the categories of Health and Fitness, Beauty and Home, and Community Awareness. Vendor booths will be open from 5:30-7 pm the evening of the event with light refreshments available. If you are interested in being a vendor contact Pam Price at WMDH AM and FM, 529.2600.
Guest Speakers
The program will follow in the sanctuary with three speakers presenting different aspects of women and heart disease - Amy Wright, RD, Cardiologist Nathan Millikan, MD, and Humorist Jane Hofmann.
The first 500 women in attendance will receive a red bag and a red dress pin. Door prizes will be given away throughout the evening, but you must be present to win.
Don't forget to wear red to the event!
