Affairs of the Arts Number 4 - Art in Cinema 1 January 6, 2010

Each year the Art League of BonitaSprings presents Affairs of the Arts. These social events are hosted at various venues throughout Southwest Florida and all benefit the Art League.There will be 18 events total.No. 4 The evening begins with dinner before coming to the main course; a film about the tormented painter Vincent Van Gogh. And for dessert, a lively discussion of the film accompanied by coffee. This is the first part in a three-part series dedicated to Art in Cinema. The film to be shown is Lust for Life (1956) starring Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn and James Donald. The film is based on a novel by Irving Stone, and examines the relationship between Vincent Van Gogh and his friend Paul Gauguin. Cost : $40 per person or $100 per person for the three evening film series
