The Boston Globe wrote "If Williams' guitar picking gets any sharper, we'll have to invent new adjectives. Want to spice up your playing? Want some ideas on how to make a single guitar part sound like two or three guitars are playing it? Want to learn how to play beyond the first four frets? Then this workshop is for you! We'll be discussing how to think and play like a full band, with thumping bass grooves, ringing chords and singing melodies. Techniques discussed will include (but not be limited to) playing triads, playing chords and melody at the same time, alternating or drop-thumb finger picking, moving chords and bass lines, rocking rhythms. We'll also discuss some practical ways to focus your practicing to address areas in which you want to improve. Knowledge of basic chords is helpful. Handouts will be in both standard notation and TAB.
