However, the Digital Signal Processing (DSP) advances of the past decade have ushered in a new era where fixed and mobile wireless telephony, telecommunications and broadcast multimedia, audio and video, tele- and video-conferencing, and many other applications are all “converging” onto a single IP-based data networking infrastructure.
