Advanced Problem Solving December 11, 2012

Aimed at strong Mathematicians, this course allows participants to tackle more advanced problems using critical thinking and deduction. Drawing on examples that mirror those found in Maths Olympiad, UNSW ICAS Competitions and scholarship exams, participants can expect to encounter some rigorous challenges and devilish brain-teasers. Discussion and collaboration in pairs and small groups is encouraged. Use of concrete materials and appropriate software and web content are integrated to enrich and enhance these sessions as students test their abilities at a level that reaches beyond the Board of Studies Stage 3 curriculum.
