Advanced Max/MSP with Michelle Irving February 24, 2008

This course builds on the knowledge and techniques introduced in the Intro Max/MSP course. It will focus on helping students expand their “vocabulary” of Max/MSP programming objects. The course will also introduce design and interactivity concepts that will assist in the creation of more complex, nuanced, and responsive patches. Concepts like using stochastic processes and meaningful randomness will be covered. Topics covered will be applicable to designing complex audio processing patches, real-time music performance tools, and interactive projects. Several Max/MSP patch designs will be used as demonstrations in class and students will be assisted in completing several exercises that implement the techniques and concepts introduced.
