Adrienne Rich, one of our country's most distinguished and influential poets, has published nearly twenty volumes of poetry. She received the 1974 National Book Award for Diving into the Wreck, the 2004 Book Critics Circle Award for The School Among the Ruins: Poems 2000-2004, and the 2003 Bollingen Prize in American Poetry, among many other honors. A visionary writer, and a key figure in feminist and lesbian poetry, Rich has also provided a voice for women of color and for women living in poverty.
