KoRpUS and IS THAT IT?!
During the Cairo International Dance Theatre Festival, Adham Hafez-Amina presents his new work, two movement/performance studies. The idea is to offer the audience a chance to see part of the work process and alternative practices before presenting a “finished performance”, to give more tools and context to understanding certain choreographic practices
KoRpuS (movement study and installation)
In an anatomical journey, the audience is invited through voice, text, sounds, objects and images to go through the body of the dancer on the stage, to explore subtle elements of this dance and see that body on the stage for what it is made up from (how it is conceived and constructed)
IS THAT IT?! (movement study and game)
A playful game, where the dancers learn the choreography for the first time on the stage in the presence of the audience. Misconceptions, misunderstandings, missing links and lost in the translations, this game offers a funny experience to both the dancer and audience, and reveals some aspects of choreography and the transmission of choreographic information (movement design or relational systems)
