Miller recounts a life, raised by a gritty, determined single mother (though a stepfather showed up sporadically), moving from house to house, barely scraping out an existence. His is more than a story of the recent Jim Crow South, but of a life forced into explicit deportation from what would otherwise be called third world conditions.
Adam David Miller has worked in California for 40 years as an educator, editor, publisher, poet, radio and television producer.
