Since his retirement from policing in 2011, Mike McBride has written articles, chaired conferences and advised on all matters related to security – with the aim of making policing safer and more efficient.

Topics covered in the course include; a compare and contrast of the two types of active shooter (namely the lone spree killer and marauding teams of armed terrorists), how to apply a rational decision making model when responding to both types of active shooter scenario and implementation of a response which is justified, authorised, proportionate, auditable and necessary.
