Active Arts Theatre for Young Audiences presents The Emperors New Clothes, a delightful musical by Ahrens and Flaherty, the team that created Ragtime and Seussical.
Inspired by Hans Christian Andersens familiar tale, The Emperors New Clothes tells the story of Marcus, a 14-year old boy destined to become the next emperor. Unfortunately, he hasnt finished reading his How to be an Emperor guide, but already the townspeople need his help. Whats a fellow to do? In comes the Swindler, arguing that clothes make the man and he has just the outfit. Will someone call the Swindlers bluff, or will Marcus show up in front of the whole town in his underwear? Told through narrative, song, and dancing, The Emperors New Clothes is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages!
