Stillborn Scarlet has been a music project since 2005. The credit begins with Oscar G's" father. Growing up song writer/ lead guitarist /band manager Oscar Garcia was exposed to classical rock music, legends such as Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Queen, and several others who planted seeds to flourish several years later. After moving to Daytona Beach Fl. in 2005, music became a priority and hobby for Oscar. One evening during a routine exercise homework for his guitar teacher; roommate Erika Lynn began humming a melody to later be their first song "All In You". Coming from a strong R&B, Soul, and Jazz background, experienced lead vocalist Erika Lynn had already headlined for bands such as "Bill Porter Jazz Trio, Dana Pauls Orquestra" and the "Disney 4 Girls Only production". She was also heavily influenced by her mother, a concert pianist and song writer/vocalist father. Although the Rock genre was relatively a new venture for Erika Lynn, she adds quality vocals and the finishing poster label we place in lead singers today. The two piece band didn't actually get their name until two years later. (check name background blog) After failed tryouts with several musicians, trials and tribulations, they we introduced to now Stillborn Scarlet drummer Taiko in the fall of 2008 through an add reply. Taiko comes from Raleigh, NC where his parents raised him on classic rock and blues. Kansas and Yes where some of his first band concerts. He took to the drums in the fourth grade beginning with concert and marching bands to playing full sets for blues, rock, metal, and jazz bands respectively. Taiko later moved to Florida to attend Embry-Riddle University and upon almost immediately receiving the drummer search ad, they all met one evening for a tryout. After writing all new drumlines for the original songs, Taiko joined and was able to play a their first gig together, only a week later. One of Taiko's close friends "Quazie" had attended the show. Needless to say the group gathered a few day later to try the 4 piece sound and Stillborn Scarlet continued as a full band. Quazie was also influenced by his father/musician and older brother. Bands such as NoFx, Blink-182, Sum 41, and Green Day were also heavy influences on Quazie, especially one in particular... "Mark Hoppus of Blink-182" who was the reason Quazi picked up a bass guitar. In closing Stillborn Scarlet continues to establish their sound in the music world. Already having worked with several recording studios such as Daytona Beach Tropical Recording, Port Orange Earwaves, Ormond Beach Reel Time and most recent, Fireboy Entertainment. They were also two time winners of Daytona's Got Talent. Their focus remains in creating music for their supporting fans. Playing to the rhythm of life's experiences, expressed and measured by their supporters. Stillborn Scarlet leaves you a diary we have already or will eventually relate to.
