Concerts can pose extraordinary challenges for photographers. The crowd is jostling, the lights fluctuate, the stage is often dark, and the subjects are always moving. That’s what makes the group show “Accidents Will Happen: Stories From Rock Photography” truly amazing. On display through July 13, these photos by six featured shooters are abnormally good--no, perfect. But their creators all attribute it to happenstance, to being in the right place at the right time. Thanks to the gallery’s introductory text and documentary video, visitors can first learn the stories behind the photos, the “accident” that made each shot so strong. Whether it’s Jini Dellaccio’s iconic Sonics’ Boom album cover or Charles Peterson’s classic shot of Kurt Cobain suspended in the air, this exhibit proves accidents aren’t necessarily all bad.
