Aaron Spectre (Berlin / Death$usker, Cock Rock Disco, Mashit, Kriss, Ad Noisium)
-
Aaron Spectre has been blazing it up across Europe and North America non-stop, playing alongside the likes of Remarc, Soundmurderer, Daddy Freddy, The Bug, Exile, and Drop The Lime. Not content just to spin records, Aaron plays next-level live/dj hybrid sets which set new standards for the jungle + breakcore genres. He plays the breakbeats "live" using a host of hands-on controllers, layering acapellas atop riddims and triggered breaks, making on-the-fly remixes at light speed. A recent 50 minute mix CD features no less than 44 separate tracks, plus countless samples and breaks mixed and re-mangled in real-time. It isn't just a track count contest though, Aaron keeps the flow intact using time-tested DJ sensibilities garnered from his days behind the turntables. Aaron has spent the past few years baced in Berlin, developing his hard-edged sound in underground warehouse parties and clubs alike, while maintaining a vigorous worldwide release schedule and constant touring.
Aaron's DJ C/Capleton remix 12" on Mashit sold out within weeks of its release, and received continuing support from BBC Radio One legend John Peel, who chose Mashit as a "label of the month" in October 2004. The Mashit records continue to sell out everywhere and have been played by various Ninja Tune DJs, Resonance FM, as well as mashing up the dance from NYC to London to Berlin to Beirut. His Death$ucker 12" has been rinsed by DJ Rupture, and had been ruling UK dancefloors on dubplate for some time before its release. Expect to hear some brand new selections from Aaron's most recent releases on lablel like Cock Rock Disco, Ad Noisium, and Death$ucker.
