With more than twenty-five years of experience as a broadcast journalist, Aaron Brown is well known for his intellectual reporting style. The former anchor of CNN’s flagship NewsNight with Aaron Brown and ABC’s World News Tonight Saturday, Brown has also served as a reporter for World News Tonight and Nightline during his distinguished career. From 2001 to 2005, Brown was the “voice of CNN” as the host of NewsNight, focusing on investigative journalism and interviews. His coverage of the events of September 11, 2001 - his first day as a CNN anchor - and the weeks following the terrorist attacks established Brown as one of the most trusted and respected figures of American media. Though noted for his integrity and compared to iconic anchors Dan Rather, Tom Brokaw, and Peter Jennings, Aaron Brown and NewsNight were controversially replaced by Anderson Cooper 360 in 2005 and Brown subsequently left CNN. Brown previously served as the John J. Rhodes Chair in Public Policy and American Institutions at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism & Mass Communications.
