Hatshepsut and Before:
A Walk through the Newly Refurbished Egyptian Art Galleries

After two years of preparation, the galleries exhibiting the Museum’s collection of Egyptian art from the second millennium B.C. were opened last year. During a walk through the galleries, the curator will explain the concepts behind this new installation and present an introduction to the art created in Egypt from the Eleventh to the early Eighteenth Dynasty (2000–1450 B.C.), with special emphasis on representations of Hatshepsut, ancient Egypt’s most important female pharaoh.
