A Tuna Christmas
by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears and Ed Howard
Starring Seth Maisel and Austin Terrell
Directed by Wade P. Wood
It’s 24 hours before Christmas and Bertha Bumiller is trying to hold her family together, Joe Bob Lipsey struggles to mount his disaster prone production of “A Christmas Carol” and a mysterious Christmas Phantom threatens to throw the town's annual Christmas Yard Display Contest (won 14 times in a row by Vera Carp) into turmoil.
“A Tuna Christmas” opens on Friday, November 13 and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.; Sundays at 6 p.m.(* note Sunday curtain time change) through December 20. Tickets are $22.00 and are available by calling 303-433-4343 or online at www.denvervic.com.
“A Tuna Christmas” is the second in a series of comedic plays (preceded by Greater Tuna and followed by Red, White and Tuna and Tuna Does Vegas), each set the fictional town of Tuna, Texas, the "third-smallest" town in the state.
The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by only two performers, Seth Maisel and Austin Terrell, making this satire on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict all of the inhabitants of Tuna -- men, women, children and animals.
Director/Producer Wade Wood has teamed Maisel and Terrell together for the fourth time in this popular Tuna tale. Wood stated, “From the 2008 productions of “Stones In His Pockets,” the British farce “Out of Order” and last years “Greater Tuna,” these two have shown they are dynamite together on stage.
