This is a tribute to New York composer Edward MacDowell on the centennial of his death. A program of songs and other pieces by MacDowell and other composers connected with The MacDowell Colony will be performed. The MacDowell Colony, still in existence, was formed by MacDowell in 1907 at his summer home in New Hampshire to provide a creative environment for composers, artists, writers, and dancers. Included in the program will be compositions by Copland, Gershwin, and Bernstein. Pianist Glenn Hardy, mezzo soprano Helen Fanelli and baritone Bjorn Olsson will be among the performers.
