G’Day Mates! Australia has quickly become one of the world’s premier wine regions and display some of the same adventurism in winemaking that has made California so famous...in other words, they’ll try anything, blend anything, planting any grapes anywhere to see what works best. Tonight we’ll try some of these adventurous Australian wines, beginning with a crisp Chardonnay from South Eastern Australia. Then we’ll turn to the reds, with an interesting blend of Barbera, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, and follow it with a 100% Shiraz from the Granite Belt, then a Cabernet-Shiraz blend from the Margaret River in South West Australia. Finally, we’ll pour a great example of an Australian blend using Cabernet, Petit Verdot, Malbec and of course, Shiraz. So scurry on down to Dudley’s Boozer for a taste of Australia!
