A Sunny Day in Glasgow began as a bedroom project of Ben Daniels and his sisters Robin & Lauren. They released their first EP The Sunniest Day Ever in March 2006 which provided them early acclaim and paved the way for their debut full length Scribble Mural Comic Journal on Notenuf Records. In 2007, the Daniels siblings assembled a backing band of disparate musicians from various countries/states to tour in support of the critically acclaimed SMCJ. Shortly thereafter, the group released the limited Tout New Age EP. Following their tours, Ben returned to school to finish his master's thesis, by which time his sister Lauren had moved to Colorado to start grad school. Robin and Ben re-grouped in Philadelphia and assembled a more permanent line-up featuring Brice Hickey on bass and Josh Meakim on drums.
