Join us for an evening celebrating several amazing women and their contributions to the environment! As two of the 104 national 2009 Honorees for Women Taking the Lead to Save our Planet, environmental educators Donna Lewis and Robyn Sweet are part of a group of scientists, engineers, business leaders, writers, filmmakers, conservationists, teachers and community organizers whose lives show a dedication to protecting and preserving the environment.
The recognition ceremony will be followed by a FREE public screening of A Sense of Wonder in the Museum’s Planetarium. When pioneering environmental activist Rachel Carson published Silent Spring in 1962, the backlash from her critics thrust her into the center of a political maelstrom. Intimate and poignant, this documentary-style film is a reflection of Carson as she emerges as one of America's most successful advocates for the natural world.
Admission to the program is free, but requires a reservation as space is limited. For more information, call 937-275-7431, ext. 120.
