Michael Swaine will produce A Plea for Tenderness, a new business to create and sell shirts. A Plea for Tenderness explores the senseless brutality behind war and military culture. During his residency at Southern Exposure, Michael will fabricate a new line of shirts bearing the phrase “A Plea for Tenderness” sewn in Braille. Three different styles of this shirt will be produced during the residency and will be available for purchase at the gallery and online at www.apleafortenderness.com.

During his residency, Michael will also produce a video explaining the shirts and asks for interested participants to stop by the gallery during his residency hours.
