Add a world music perspective to your Christmas celebrations this year with this concert of vivacious and colourful seasonal music from North and South America, performed by the Vancouver Chamber Choir and members of the WorldFest Ensemble including Vancouver Chamber Choir favourites Ed Henderson, Sal Ferreras, Pepe Danza, Miles Black, Miles Hill and more. Ariel Ramirez’s Navidad Nuestra is the Argentine Christmas cantata by the composer of Missa Criolla. Pierick Houdy’s La Messe Québécoise is a rousing Canadian-Celtic romp complete with fiddle, organ, bass and spoons. Jazz great Dave Brubeck’s La Fiesta de la Posada reflects Mexican seasonal festivities, featuring jazz and mariachi band rhythms and a guest appearance by the Pacific Mennonite Children’s choir.
