Boston Opera Pioneer Ernest Triplett will perform A MIRACLE OF MUSIC with proceeds to benefit Sickle Cell research at Brigham & Women's Hospital.
Mr. Triplett, a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, became America?s first black director of a union affiliated professional opera company when he founded the highly regarded Associate Artists Opera Company in 1970. The Associate Artists Opera Company was born with the vision to exclusively showcase and employ young singers and musicians from New England. Associate Artists Opera Company is the forefather of today?s Boston Lyric Opera.
Throughout his career, noted baritone Ernest Triplett has been praised for the richness of his exceptional voice and his extensive range. He will bring that range to Jordan Hall in Boston on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 8:00 PM for his most important concert ever, A Miracle of Music. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Brigham and Women?s Hospital research division and their continuing fight to find a cure for sickle cell anemia. Accompanied by pianist Fredericka King, he will perform a winter concert of works by Borodin, Mozart, Purcell, Verdi and others.
