NEW! This year A Million Blooms kicks off with Orchids Galore! -- a spectacular display of orchids in the Conservatory from Saturday, March 12 – Sunday, April 10. Orchids Galore! is one of the largest collections of orchids on public, daily display in the mid-Atlantic.
Celebrate spring with A Million Blooms -- offering a million ways to have fun in the Garden.
A Million Blooms features a spectacular succession of blooms including daffodils, cherry blossoms, tulips, irises, roses and peonies.
Highlights include special events such as Easter Weekend, Mother’s Day, the Spring Plant Sale and plant shows, and activities in the Children’s Garden. A Million Blooms is presented by Strange’s.
In early spring the Garden will be undergoing enhancements in the Central Garden and will not have the usual "spring tulip border." However, tulips are still star of the show in April and more than 11,000 are featured. These include 3,000 inside the Conservatory, 2,000 in outdoor containers and 6,000 in ground displays. Companions to the tulips are tens of thousands of daffodils.
