A Midsummer's Eve Concert by Triskela Celtic Harp Trio June 20, 2009

On midsummer's eve, come and be enchanted by the sound of harps, vocals, flute and pennywhistle played by Triskela Celtic Harp Trio. The members of Triskela, Diana Stork, Shawna Spiteri and Portia Diwa, will play an elegant and eclectic mix of traditional Celtic and Latin music with original works. Guest musician Teed Rockwell will perform on the Touchstyle Fretboard and accompany Triskela with percussion.

Triskela has been playing together since 1997 and actively performing throughout Northern California at venues such as: Grace Cathedral, Dorothy Spreckles Performing Arts Center, Freight and Salvage with the Black Brothers, and San Francisco Celtic Festival. Music from their CD, "Voice of Tara" was recently selected for the feature documentary, "Reclaiming the Blade" by Galatia Films.

Diana Stork is well-known in the harp world for her unique style which incorporates ethnic and contemporary harp traditions. She has performed for such diverse groups as the Line's Contemporary Ballet and the Maihar Orchestra of Maestro Ali Akbar Khan. She can be heard on dozens of albums, including "Harpestry" on Universal Records, and "Sacred Light" on the At Peace Music label.

Shawna Spiteri has been performing as a singer and actress since childhood. With a degree in musical theatre, she has performed with such companies as the Peninsula Civic Light Opera, Marin Civic Light Opera, and The Enormous Ensemble. She directs Bella Donna, a Renaissance performance troupe.

Portia Diwa started playing harp at age 9 and has been actively performing ever since. She directs Bahia Vista Harp Ensemble, bringing Latin harp music to underprivileged youth in San Rafael. Portia supervises the Institute for Health & Healing's Healing Harp Program at Marin General Hospital.

Teed Rockwell has studied the percussion of India and Latin America. He is a well-known touch-style fretboard player with the popular fusion group, "Australian Bebop Ragas."
