In celebration of Rochester's 175th birthday, the Coming Home To Rochester event invites everybody who has left Rochester to come home and say hello to old friends and family. To do our part, we've invited Rochester's own Bat McGrath to help us kick off the celebration.

In the years since he made his name in Rochester, Bat moved to Nashville to do some session work, wrote hits for Wynona Judd and Kenny Rogers and even married a soap opera star. But sometimes an artist realizes he cant' define success in terms of fame or money, but in how good he feels about his music. With that in mind, Bat abandoned the Nashville scene for a home in the back of beyond and made several albums of the kind of music that pleases him. Remember the line in the song about having a 'satisfied mind'? Well, Bat seems very satisfied with making the music he loves.
