Saturday evening July 26, 2008, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, ArtZone 461 Gallery extends our hours to host a closing event for our month-long silent auction exhibition: 20% of sales proceeds are pledged to local non-profit arts organization Visual Aid. San Francisco’s newest Fine Art Gallery had an overflow crowd at its Grand Opening on June 22, 2008, the kick-off for the silent auction.
Works in the show come from Gallery artists and artist friends of owners Steven Lopez and Eric Koehler. The show is “A Grand Affair” because opening bids starts at $1,000 and all works in the auction have a retail price above that level, including some valued at over $3,000. Bay Area notables include Mark Adams, Theophilus Brown, Gordon Cook, Charles Farr, Frank Lobdell and Paul Wonner. Featured Gallery artists are Joseph Bacon, Kevin Bean, Adam Cahoon, Jane Fisher, Nenad Kostic, Noah Phyllis Levin, Eileen Starr Moderbacher, Gage Opdenbrouw, Frank Ryan, Brian Tepper, William Wolf (estate) and Jeong-Im Yi.
A complete listing of artists and remaining, available works, including images, may be viewed on our new website: artzone 461.com. Online bidding via email is also an option, please see the website for “Silent Auction Rules.” Note that works in this silent auction may be purchased out-right at full retail price.
Visual Aid is the Bay Area organization committed to encouraging artists with life-threatening illnesses to continue their creative work. Gallery owners Lopez and Koehler demonstrate an ongoing commitment to the arts community; their effort sets the stage for engaging collectors and community alike by embracing Visual Aid’s goal of Keeping Art Alive!
The Gallery is located at 461 Valencia Street, between 15th and 16th Streets. ArtZone 461 features over 3,000 square feet of exhibition space, 14 ft. ceilings, a 100 ft. long brick wall, an extensive Art library, a generous flat file area, plenty of natural light and a friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff.
Steven Lopez and Eric Koehler bring to this venture a generation of experience as collectors, gallery owners and partners (since 1982). Lopez formerly owned the historic Charles Campbell Gallery. Building on this foundation, ArtZone 461 promises a continued, noteworthy contribution to the Bay Area cultural landscape. We invite you to visit the gallery for the silent auction and our inaugural show.
“HERE & NOW” is our grand opening exhibition in the main gallery that continues through August 16. It includes both familiar and new names of established and emerging Bay Area & California artists. The silent auction is featured in the ‘side gallery’: Last chance to bid and buy is Saturday July 26, come see.
