The LA based German artists, opera singer Christine Katzenmaier and painter Patricia Perman, strike hard again with an individual performance of music and art, a combination high in melody and color.

Going back to their roots, Perman and Katzenmaier were inspired by German poets of the romantic period in the 1900?s (which originated partially by their German poets Goethe and Rueckert), approaching a more radical expression restated by Katzenmaier?s voice and extravagance performance and illustrated by Perman?s impulsive and passionate paintings in form of illuminated art boxes called ?Luminaries?.

Perman?s ?Luminaries? articulate Katzenmaier?s version of classic lyrics as Katzenmaier accompanies and verbalizes Perman?s paintings - a constant entertaining interplay showing the complexity of art and music? Katzenmaier will perform songs of what the romanticism evolved? dreams, love, lust and death?

Perman cherishes freedom of expression, an endless pursuit of the unattainable fantasy and imagination displayed in an overdose of color and realistic outlines resulting in a virulence of it?s own kind.

Katzenmaier transforms lyrical songs into the highest significance of emotions and rich tone color expressing the German spirit of romanticism in a performance of freedom, movement and passion.

From Christine Kaztenmaier's acapella, to the invisible piano accompaniment by ChiaHui Lin, to the final stage arrangement, the use of the environmental space was creative and inspiring. Patricia Perman's paintings were an incredible backdrop. Her work is cleverly attractive, and inviting to look at. Christine's costumes also heightened the experience and the use of body paint and make-up blended with her already artistically evolved sense of artsy fashion, turned her persona in to an enrapturing canvas of brilliantly colorful attire?? Patricia Perman Bio
Born in a small town in Germany, Patricia Perman moved to Los Angeles in 1998 and quickly got interested in the So Cal art scene and started showing her art in Los Angeles group shows such as Create Fixate, Cannibal Flower, Karmicrash, 6degrees etc. Under the supervision of her father, known German artist Miroslav Perman, Patricia started painting at early age. After painting millions of little mermaids and pink horses she started focusing on her real talents and moved on to more abstract and expressive art and showed it in solo shows such as ?Aufgepasst!? and ?Divara In Art? in which her artwork gets musical support by Christine Katzenmaier. Tonight Patricia is showing her latest work called ?Luminaries?

Christine Katzenmaier Bio
Christine Katzenmaier?s repertoire is as diverse as the LA cultural scene itself, spanning from a broad spectrum of acting roles, to an equally wide range as an operatically trained singer. After stunning audiences with her gripping portrayal of Rosa in Kara Hartzler?s Asylum at the Actor?s Playhouse in Long Beach, Christine Katzenmaier was critically claimed as one of the Ten Most Promising Actors on the LA Theatre Scene by Dave Barton of the OC Weekly. And she hasn?t slowed down, yet. Recent film appearances have included High Crimes with Morgan Freeman and My Sister?s Keeper with Kathy Bates. Christine made her mark at the 2005 Idaho Film Festival with her poignant appearance in Blue Lotus, a film documenting the HIV community. As a singer, Christine has received rave reviews and top chart billings on MP3, and she even concluded a reality TV appearance on HGTV by giving a concert before a live audience. And if selling out five consecutive shows on Sunset Blvd. on a Saturday night seems impressive, then what is even more impressive is the way that she did it - by singing operatic arias. Christine?s message: opera and the arts must be accessible to all people, even if she has to take her message to the heart of the rock and roll capital of the world on a Saturday night to do it. Christine has had astonishing success in reaching thousands of people. Live stage appearances have included a one month run at UCLA?s Arts Theater in the lead role of A Space Opera, by Mark Carlson, a classical composer whose work has been nationally awarded for its accessibility.

While exemplifying many artistic abilities, acting is the core of her magic. In over a dozen student films, Christine?s Audrey Hepburn like blend of adult sensuality and innocent na?veté brought all of her scripts to life, and clearly suggested her future success. One of her feature films, ?Far From Bismark? was a winner at the New York Film Festival. Christine also stands out in a world crowded with artists because of the way that she combines different art forms. When Christine sings, she gives more than a concert, she gives a show in which she collaborates with other local artists such as Patricia Perman, who creates stunning sets and costumes, and even paints on Christine?s body to help create a more complete experience for the audience. Christine has also collaborated with fellow singer Jahna, to form the operatic ensemble Div Aria. Together, their performance of Offenbach?s Barcarolle reached the Number 4 spot on the worldwide MP3 charts.

Born and raised near Stuttgart Germany, Christine was educated in one of the world?s legendary musical regions. After training as a pastry chef in Stuttgart, Christine?s acting performances, as well as performances of Bach and Mozart, persuaded her to devote herself exclusively to acting and music. She chose Los Angeles, a city whose unique blend of cultures and art forms would provide the ideal stage for her to carry out her mission.
